Summer Art

Sometimes I like to slip in a little education over the summer months. (Ok, often, but don't tell the kids that. They think it's just a 'fun activity'.) A while back I came across a couple of blogs run by art teachers who enjoy sharing the lessons they create for their students. One had taken a famous Van Gogh, The Starry Night, and made a rough draft coloring page out of it. I printed it off and gave it to Brenna and Daniel one morning along with a set of colored pencils.

Afterwards I showed them the original, which Brenna said she'd seen before and remembered.  Thankfully, because I was thinking it awfully coincedental that she colored her sky like that!

Here are two other sites with fun ideas on them:

Or you can just google 'Van Gogh coloring pages' and lots of options show up.
