Porridge.
Yep. As in a genuine Goldilocks and The Three Bears reference.
It's incredibly simple. I run oats through my mill. Heat water on the stove. Add the oat flour and within minutes we have a hot breakfast! Amazing.
Last week, my friend Mrs. J sent me an email to ask if I'd considered serving whole grain milled from my grinder as baby food. Well, I didn't even know I could! Within minutes I was researching the possibility and though there wasn't much information available, I did find one website with an actual recipe. I gave it a whirl, and it wasn't bad!
No need to buy those boxes of processed baby cereal this time around!
Now bland is good for a baby, but not so much for me. I'd made a whole recipe of "baby food" and I didn't want to waste it. I started by adding honey. Then cinnamon. Then bananas ... and it just took off from there. Really, everyone can customize their own bowl, just like they do their pancakes. It's a great breakfast!
Even the kids are good with it. They say they'll eat it as long as it isn't "Peas porridge hot, Peas porridge cold..."

One of our favorite breakfasts is steel cut oats in the crockpot overnight :) mmmmm! :) Just a little brown sugar and milk and the girls gobble it up :)
