Quilts

I have a semi-obsession. Quilts. I finished my first one not so long ago, and my second is about thirty minutes from the finish line. No pictures, though. It's a gift and I don't want to give up the secret here.

Well.... maybe just a sneak peek.



During my down time in the afternoon - when Daniel and Carrie are sleeping and Michael and Brenna haven't arrived home yet - I love to check out new quilt patterns and designs. The month of April has been Quilting Month on Sew Mama Sew and I've seen some amazing designs.
This one is a bright, circle pattern.
And this one is just so pretty!

There are so many things to with quilts. Gifts, charity, display. Doll sized quilts, lap quilts, bed sized quilts. One of my favorites is the 100 Good Wishes Quilt for families adopting from China.

I feel like I have the cutting, piecing and hand quilting down pretty well. Next step - learn machine quilting to see if I like that. And then definitely figure out how to bind! That seems to be my big hang up.

I think I spotted this one via Heather a while back. Perhaps on Facebook. Lately Amy has been interviewing other quilters and posting pictures of their quilts. Sends me on a new trail every time!

Tallgrass Prarie Studio:
Jacquie does some really neat things including using the selvage edges of the fabric. She also writes great tutorials.

Red Pepper Quilts:
I got hooked on this one because of this quilt. And this quilt. Which is interesting because I'm not all that into pink.

Moda Bake Shop:
Here I find all kinds of fun projects, and every one of them is posted with a tutorial (or recipe). One of my favorites is this quilt.
