Just A Little Something

Just a little something I whipped up over the last two days.

They sell this material (and several other prints) at Jo-Ann Fabrics with the shirring already done. You buy it by the inch rather than the yard, so you get exactly what you need. There was plenty of length, so I used a few inches off the bottom to make straps. I also hemmed it up a good deal so it could be let out.

I'll resist the urge to list all the flaws in my work. Let's just say there's a reason I did not take pictures of the back. (sigh) But Brenna's six and all she cares about is that Mama made her a dress and she loves it.

Silly girl - posing

Here's a close up of the fabric:

Cute! Good job! Be prepared for it to shrink a bit. I made dresses for the girls last summer with the same material and poor Reagan only got to wear hers once...it had to be handed down to Skylar...and Skylar's down to Bailey. Maybe I should have just avoided the dryer... :D

You are amazing! Good Job Momma! I saw this same fabric at JoAnn's and was eyeing it. What do you do? Just sew the right sides together for a back or side seam? Maybe if I get really brave I'll try it. :)

I love the dress!
It looks great on Brenna.
How about a matching hat? :)
