A long time ago Brenna named all the squirrels in our yard Chuck or Chuckie. Any other squirrel is part of Chuck and Chuckie's family, but they usually don't get names.
Before Halloween we noticed some nicks in our pumpkins and knew the squirrels were nibbling at them. Over the last couple of weeks, the nicks have grown to chunks.

Then last week, I walked outside and discovered that one of the six was missing. I found it under the porch. (There's no way I'm going in after this one. Michael will have to get it out! : )

Yesterday we found another one in the driveway. Michael kicked it out of the way and this morning, I decided to take a few pictures. Yep! They ate right through the middle!

It seems Chuck and Chuckie like a little pumpkin in their diet!

These are the same squirrels (I guess) that ate through the gas line of our grill this summer, making it a useless piece of junk.

I am way behind on blog reading, so I'm just now getting to this post. My mom had a similar thing happen in her garden last year, and this year...jack and the bean stalk type pumpkin vines. Huge, long vines sprung up from her left over pumpkin seeds. The main vine grew to over 30 feet long while my dad was in the hospital this summer!
So maybe you'll have some accidental pumpkins next year!
