Brenna has been in Disney World all week with my parents. It was her birthday gift from them. Somewhere they heard of grandparents taking each grandchild to Disney World for their 5th birthday. They really liked the idea and Brenna was the first to go. (Now they have till 2011 to save up for Daniel's trip!)
Last night we picked them all up at the airport. I couldn't have anticipated the scene if I'd tried. My dad came up the hall first. Mom and Brenna had stopped at the restroom. So dad gave Daniel a big hug and then got out the video camera to record Brenna coming up the hall.
(Now is one of those times when I wish I could just post the video. But we don't have the right computer software, and even if we did, it would take me forever to cut and upload.)
Dad had just set Daniel down to walk when Brenna spotted us. And she came running! I expected her to go straight to Michael. And I think she did see him first. But Daniel saw her about the same time and he took off running toward her yelling, "Nenna!" She slowed just a little, and in the sweetest voice, said, "Ooohh, Daniel!" The next thing we knew she had grabbed him in her arms and they were both hanging on to each other and grinning. It took my mom's prompting several minutes later to get her to let go. People were stopping to 'awwwww' as they walked through the airport. It was truly the sweetest reunion. And yes-my eyes leaked a little.
After we waited a VERY long time for their bags, and started toward the parking lot, Brenna said, "Mommy? I'm glad we're all back together again."
Me too, Brenna. Me too.
